you can install wvkbd on wayland, customize it as you prefere. make it run in a box for example (with decorations), make it toggle on your command. see github page: https://github.com/jjsullivan5196/wvkbdI'm not sure I'm following that post. It sounds like you have both X11 and Wayfire keyboards installed, so what does it do sue the keyboard based upon the compositor that the application you are using is working with?see this.

i do agree though. why the F couldnt onboard just work on wayland. it says it should but no..
the onboard team has done their part but raspberry pi team need to do theirs as well. question is.. when?
I'll keep running x11 until rpi-team makes wayland work better with rpi-OS.
