Raspberry Pi OS has a simple notepad called "mousepad"
on the April 2024 OS download somehow I had the spell checker working and it works great, I used to use the internet search engine as the best spellcheck and it was better than libreoffice, but honestly now I think mousepad is better than the internet search engine
Yesterday I got a SD card to load on the July Operating OS System, and the spell checker did not work, I just spent 3 hours loading on a lot of programs thinking 'this will do it, this will get my spellchecker to work' but no luck, I kept on rebooting the system think 'maybe after the reboot it will work.'
Then I opened up the program and found something to "tick on" , it goes edit => preferences => plug ins (tab) and tick on "spell checker"

it would be really good if I could keep a microSD in the the microSD slot of the raspberry pi and only use that for the /home petition , and then use the latest OS in the USB port, and not have any home petition work go on the USB stick unless it is made a copy of and only used as the copy of the microSD card
