I am using the Raspi4 in context with a HifiBerry-Sound Interface and I intend to use the Raspi in terms of low-latency audio- and video processing incl. transmission of audio and video. Besides this the only additional requirement is to still keep the touchscreen usable in the sense that it responds with an acceptable delay. If you want to get an answer, you have to put requirements here what you need, what special RPi HW/overlay features you rely on.OK, thank you – so what would be the recommended way of installing a realtime kernel on a Raspi then ?
There is quite a difference between RPiOS Bookworm and Debian Bookworm because RPiOS uses a special RPi only tailored version of the Linux kernel.
It is also automatic updates v.s. own re-patching and re-building every kernel update.
If possible I'd like to stay with my curren Debian (6.6.51+rpt-rpi-v8 #1 SMP PREEMPT Debian) and add a realtime kernel on it but if this is not a good choice I would change to RPiOS of course.
Please let me know what would be the ideal solution and thanks in advance for it !
