Which model Pi are you using?
The images used to install an OS on a Pi have an MBR partition table which cannot handle more than 2TB. You need a GPT partition table to be able to access the entire drive.
Unfortunately many models of Pi can only boot from MBR so without knowing which model Pi you have it's difficult to suggest a solution.
