Hi
I have an application running on an RPi3B which for reasons unknown runs under buster but won't work under bullseye (or probably bookworm but untried).
I tried to upgrade to bullseye and that broke the app so I downgraded back to buster. However now, in a shell, history using the cursor keys simply echo the escape sequences and tab completion simply inserts a tab.
Can anyone throw any light on why this should be and even better suggest a cure?
Many thanks.
Edit: I've done a bit of digging and it would appear that my .bashrc file is not being invoked as the prompt is just a basic $ Don't know why that should be though.
Further edit: I hadn't noticed that the above problem only occurs when logged in via VNC but doesn't occur if logged in via ssh. I don't have a monitor/keyboard/mouse connected so can't test whether the problem exists in graphical mode.
