Our server application has small number of data bytes per seconds, hence, no need for workload sharing on multiple hardware.

May be one hangup error and reboot every 12 months to 24 months is good.

1. Our first baseline is seeking advises on how to setup and configure the server for best-practice manner. We are new to Linux.

2. Then have two independent servers and some simple way of software switching which one is live and which is hot standby.

3. How to inferface with UPS and signalling that AC power is down and command the system to perfrom orderly shutdown.

4. We have no prior knowledge on high availability (HA) and/or clustering. Pointer to general information please. Are there middleware software that sit above the OS and doing some actions, heartbeat monitor, assigning traffic/status, logging, etc.?
