Raspberry Pi OS • Re: installing 64bit version on 3B hangs

I spent few hours waiting for 2024-11-19-raspios-bookworm-arm64-full to install. I used rpi-imager to write the image on a 16GB microSD then inserted into a rpi 3B and turn it on.

After "unpacking" (?) some software, the splash screen stays there for long time on "systemd-binfmt.service". I left it for an hour and then I found it advanced to "systemd-tmpfile-setup.service" (I don't remember which one) but stopped again.

Then I pressed Esc and get into a console with lot o errors (Failed to start .... many services).

What is going wrong? How can I diagnose the problem?
I have only used 32GB SDcards so I think the 16GB SDcard may be insufficient for the PiOS Full version.

Try loading a Lite version on the card for testing. If the Lite version works on the 16GB Sdcard but will the Full version will not, then you have the answer.
