your doing it wrong
the default desktop is now labwc
use raspberry pi configuration to enable screen saver (on/off toggle)
the time can be adjusted in ~/.config/labwc/autostart
make sure your using the latest release of 64bit
you should not mess with root owned files unless absolutely vital, sudo is to be used with care.
most of the time there is a user method that is used before the system method, so no need to mess with the system files.
/usr/share/wayfire/metadata/idle.xml is a system file that will be overwritten during updates, editing can cause any future updates to fail
