Update. It looks like the second error in the original comment was due to the use of two Pico cores. If a simple loop is run that includes a sleep_ms(0.01) then rshell connects OK. Using two cores seems to carry some problems. This is not the only problem that I've seen which interacts with Pico utilities. People, and I, have also experience timeouts when copying file to the Pico when the Pico uses two cores.
