You can check the state of Audacity's install from the Command Line in a Terminal session.

Type

Code:

apt list audacity
and you should get a status showing the current available version and if it is installed correctly.

Code:

rpdom@raspberrypi:~ $ apt -a list audacityListing... Doneaudacity/stable,now 3.2.4+dfsg-1 arm64 [installed]
You might need to log out and back in again for it to appear in the desktop menus, or you could start it from the command line by typing audacity
