This solution is not complete. Periodically after upgrades my labwc/environment files is reverted to the default file. I'm going to write a bash script to overwrite it with the swap default option for now. Perhaps there is a better place to do this, or perhaps labwc needs a bug submitted to not overwrite user environment on upgrade.
