I've just rebuilt (19 Apr 25) my Pi4 with a clean install of OS with desktop using Imager 1.8.5 and I can't get VLC to start from the desktop.
Today I updated apt-get; followed by a full upgrade [Linux xxxxxx 6.12.20+rpt-rpi-v8 #1 SMP PREEMPT Debian 1:6.12.20-1+rpt1~bpo12+1 (2025-03-19) aarch64]; followed by a remove of VLC and associated packages; followed by an apt-get install vlc - but the problem persists.
