I would agree. Unless you have particularly small SD Card there should be plenty of space which can be wasted.The real question here is: Why even bother?
In the early days, when cards were commonly smaller, and larger a lot more expensive, it did make sense to get rid of some notoriously large packages and bloat if not needed; Mathematica, Wolfram, LibreOffice, Java maybe - can't really remember now
But, even then, it only made sense to get rid of the major bloat as chasing the rest was a lot of effort with diminishing returns.
