you could overclock it and stick a heatsink (with or without fan) on it. for sd card, maybe overlayfs

You could but doing so is utterly pointless.

File servers are I/O bound (disc and network). Overclocking only helps with CPU bound tasks. Increasing CPU speed does not increase network or disc bandwidth. Nor does it reduce seek times of the physical media.
That is true but who knows exactly what 'home server use' entails. It usually starts with a samba share but then you get loads of home lab dockering, jellyfin (reencode live?), blogs, whatever really. At least that's how it went for me !
