Raspberry Pi OS • Re: Codeblocks

I've been using the build provided by PiOS (20.03) but have noticed that it can be a little unstable at times and can CTD for no apparent reason. Searching the web leads to other people complaining about the same problem across different operating systems, so I'm guessing that it's this particular build, which is now several years old. Those behind Codeblocks have quite recently updated the IDE to 25.03, which I did briefly try on Windows. Sadly, I can't find any binaries that will work on the Pi.

Will the Pi OS be adding the latest build to the repository in the near future?

Yes.

Or to be be more precise: v25.03 of the Codeblocks IDE is the version being shipped with Debian 13 'Trixie'.

It is expected, but not formally announced, that Raspberry Pi will release a 'Trixie' version of their RasPiOS OS for Raspberry Pi hardware 'Real Soon Now'. Almost certainly by the end of CY2025. At which point your desired version of that package will be in the default repositories.
