While I suspect that Wayland is the future (as many folks are claiming, though folks have been singing that song for a long time) and I understand some (not all) of the technical reasons for the switch. Wayland still does not seem to offer much in the way of user level performance gains and still does some annoying things. I am totally with pidd, and just continue to use X. So far, everything works.Maybe X is better. At least on some things. Been a lot of problems with Wayland. However, it's starting to get good too. I can live with the bug for now. Just works a little weird!Works fine on mine but I am using X not Wayland.
Will revisit again when Trixie comes out and see if Wayland with whatever desktop offers a better experience. Interesting that XFCE is moving so slowly with Wayland support. I suspect I will end up back with X and MATE. One of my big issues with my last go with Wayland was the attempt to match the current UI, which stripped out the UI editor and made getting focus follows mouse a total pita. While I am willing to learn new tricks I am not willing to give up FFM. I did get it working under Wayland/Wayfire but have not bothered to play much with Wayland/labwc. Luckily with Linux, users get to make choices and X will still be supported under Trixie.
