A little strange that it's only you and I who have the problem. At least who wrote about it in here. I thought there would be many with the same problem.
The developers of RPiOS have not said anything about it, what I have read? For what I understand, they read the forum.
I don't think it's only you and me. But not everyone has several NVMe to work with... And not everyone will care about removing their device safely... I'm currently working on a project where I need to use many devices but in normal times, I could have spent months without plugging anything to my Pis.

Hopefully they will fix this soon. Meanwhile we have to stick to manual commands so our data keep safe even if I noticed that the error occurs "after unmounting" the active partitions (which is good) and only concerns the final power-off step.
