I have used Pi5 Bookworm and the Cinnamon Desktop for years.
I have upgraded to Trixie and found I could not install Cinnamon on my Dual monitor system (I need Dual monitor because of eyesight issues) using the X11 settings previously. So I decided to give Pixel another go. However I am back to where I was when I abandoned it years ago.
1) Desktop icons arrange themselves automatically in a column on the left hand side of both monitors.
I only want them on one screen and they should arrange horizontally from the top left of the screen and ideally not automatically but as I position them within a grid.
2)I am again messing around with clunky systems for Panels and Taskbars
So I would like suggestions on how to get Cinnamon to work or failing that how to turn off grid alignment in Pixel
