Yup.... first thing we do with controller software supplied on SD or microSD is make two copies. Original goes in the "DO NOT USE" (master) storage, first copy goes in the backup storage, second copy goes in the equipment. When (not if) something bad happens to the working copy installed in the equipment, first copy is brought out to make another copy. Master (original) only comes out if something "very bad" (tm) happened when making a copy, after sorting out what killed the first copy.
