Raspberry Pi OS • AppImage requires root

I am having a lot of problems trying to get my RaspberryPi 3B to take a card I have written the OS onto. None of the installed programs on my Linux mint computer work, well the program says card is written but I can not link to the Octoprint on it.
I have tried to use the AppImage version of RaspberryPi but even when I have ticked the run as a program box it keeps saying I have to run as root because some parts of program wont work unless it is root. I tried the run through the terminal but I get "command not found" all the time no matter what I write. I even copy and paste from this site Nothing...
How do I get RaspberryPi imager_2.0.0_amd64.AppImage to run as root.

The problem I have plainly is = I have written/used the image writer to write a sd card to put in my RaspberryPi 3B. My router can see but my Linux Mint computer can not. I have an old sd card from a couple of years back that does work (I can see in my computer) but it is old and need python updating and to do that I need to write it again in the Imager program.
Extra part of this My Windows 11 machine goes straight into Octopi so have not problem there.

I am not that experienced in Linux - No coding or deep diving - and am 70 odd years old so the brain does not work so well these days.
