I am currently exploring the capabilities of the Raspberry Pi 5, particularly in terms of its compatibility with GUI-based Windows applications when running the Raspbian OS.
My specific inquiry includes the following points:
1. GUI Support: Does the Raspberry Pi 5, equipped with the Raspbian OS , offer direct support for running GUI-based Windows applications?
2. Compatibility Layers: If direct support is not available, are there recommended compatibility layers or solutions, such as Wine or other alternatives, that can be employed to run Windows applications on the Raspberry Pi 5?
3. Configuration Steps: Could you please provide detailed steps or guidelines on configuring the Raspberry Pi 5 to enable GUI support for Windows applications, if applicable?
4. Community Experiences: I am interested in hearing about any experiences or success stories from the community regarding running GUI-based Windows applications on the Raspberry Pi 5.

First, be clear that 'Raspbian' and 'The Raspberry Pi Operating System - RasPiOS' are not synonymous.

In respect of RasPiOS, the 'top-level', no-fuss, naive answers to your questions are -
A1 - No;
A2 - No;
A3 - not applicable;
A4 - you can hope for input from others - I have none.

{Edit: answers reformatted.}

And added -

in short: If you want to run 'GUI-based Windows applications' your easiest course will be to run a Microsoft Windows Operating System. And to run a Microsoft Windows Operating System you will need a hardware platform that Microsoft support. A Raspberry Pi [5] board is not such a platform.
