I am quite new to this forum. Please correct me when this is placed in the wrong section of the forum.
In order to get to know my new Raspberry Pi 500+ I am trying out several available programs.
I found (yet another) Calculator on this site: https://apps.gnome.org/Calculator/
I installed it on my system: sudo apt install gnome-calculator
Now I have two "Calculator" entries in my Accessories list.
When I start the Main Menu Editor, and click on Accessories, I see both Calculator entries with their checkboxes enabled.
If I click the upper (first) checkbox, it gets disabled. If I click it again, it gets enabled again. This is expected.
If I click the lower (second) checkbox, the upper (first) checkbox gets disabled. This is not expected.
If I click the lower (second) checkbox again, both checkboxes get disabled.
If I now click the upper (first) checkbox again, the lower (second) checkbox gets enabled.
Without workaround it seems impossible to disable the lower (second) checkbox and keep the upper (first) checkbox enabled.
I found the following workaround:
Rename one of the Calculator entries. Then everything works as expected.
EDIT:
I saw the same happening with a second "Image Viewer" app installed ("Loupe"), which gave new insight.
The two Image Viewer apps have very different icons, while the icons of the Calculator apps are almost equal.
What actually happens, is that when you click to disable the lower (second) item, it swaps location with the the other item! So the lower item becomes the upper item, and vice versa.
So the correct app gets disabled.
But it is a bit confusing when the icons are very similar as in the Calculator case.
