Very strange behavior !
Rpi 5 CM (Light) installed in a genuine Rpi Development board with a SSD.
It had been running Bookworm from the SSD for many months, no issues.
Using a SanDisk USB-SD card adapter on a Windows machine, I put Trixie on the SD card. Realizing there was still space on the SD card, I plugged the USB-SD card adapter into the running Rpi with Bookworm and copied a few more files on to it.
Removed the USB adapter. Removed the SD card. Shutdown the Rpi. Install the SD card in the SD card slot and powered up. The Trixie install came up, did the updates. Rebooted. Came up the SD card. Fine. Used the Rpi SD Card Copier to clone the OS to the SSD. Shutdown. Removed the SD card. Reboot. Now running from the SSD.
Put the SD card back in the adapter, plugged it into an open USB port on the Rpi ... NOTHING !!! Tried all the ports on the Development board and the genuine Rpi keyboard. Still nothing. Plugged a DIFFERENT USB memory stick in. OS see it ! Plugged the SanDisk USB-SD card adapter with the SD card into a Windows machine. Windows sees it and can copy file !
I have repeated this 3 times, just to convince myself I did nothing wrong. Cycled the SD card out and back into the adapter. No differences
Same HARDWARE. Running Bookworm, it sees/mounts the device. Running Trixie, it does not see the device.
What next ?
