Apparently it's not in the default repos. (current Raspi OS 64bit )
I can install all sorts of other development stuff via apt install, but can't find any libcares there.
It's a dependency of wireshark, the build failing mentioning CARES_LIBRARY with version at least 1.13.0 (I know wireshark is likely just installable, but I need to build it for other purposes, on this architecture, and cross-compiling it seems messy).
