Not sure what your definition of "lag" is, but you might want to disable smooth scrolling. I always run my browsers with smooth scrolling disabled as I find the delay when scrolling on some browsers a bit annoying. To disable smooth scrolling in Chromium, type:
into the address bar, then in the "Experiments" page that appears, type "smooth" into the search box and change the "Smooth scrolling" option from "default" to "disabled", then relaunch Chromium.
Smooth scrolling actually defaults to disabled in the Chrome browser when running on Windows 11 x86-64, which is what my main machine, a cheap laptop, is running.
