Removing font-noto doesn't seem to remove or break anything on my system using XFCE.
It does on the rpios default desktop.

Code:

sudo apt remove fonts-noto fonts-noto-cjk fonts-noto-cjk-extra fonts-noto-extra fonts-noto-ui-extra fonts-noto-unhinted -sREMOVING: fonts-noto fonts-noto-cjk fonts-noto-cjk-extra fonts-noto-extra fonts-noto-ui-extra fonts-noto-unhintedSummary: Upgrading: 0, Installing: 0, Removing: 6, Not Upgrading: 0Remv fonts-noto [20201225-2]Remv fonts-noto-cjk-extra [1:20240730+repack1-1]Remv fonts-noto-cjk [1:20240730+repack1-1]Remv fonts-noto-extra [20201225-2]Remv fonts-noto-ui-extra [20201225-2]Remv fonts-noto-unhinted [20201225-2]
You can easily create font collections , so an app only accesses those fonts.
