Hi,
@bls:
Sorry for the late reply, I should have got the email update on this thread but??? :)) This is specific to the Bookworm arm64 Desktop Lite not console only distro .

@glykos:
Thanks for the reply. Just to check: you used the Bookworm arm64 Desktop Lite distor to Install, You do not use the default pi Username???? Yes I tested the Wayfire dpms_timeout as stated below. Re: disable_on_fullscreen... Hmmm.... I would like this behavior when I am playing videos, but not when the kids are using scratch or gcompris full screen and leave it on; however, not blanking in wayland is seen just sitting on the desktop. It would just sit all night long burning into the monitor.

Update:
I would like to use wayfire, but I currently have reverted to xset rather than wayland/wayfire as I have read it is a known bug? Because others do not seem to experience this I was thinking perhaps it is something specific to the Bookworm rpiOS arm64 desktop lite version (perhaps a distro not as used because most desktop users will opt for the full install, and the rest will use cmdline only). OR Perhaps it is because I am not using pi username and there is some install/set script that is being applied/patched to the pi user in userland (not sure that last one is even a thing :)). The reasons why I question this is because it was a clean install of the distro and never worked. My hardware is standard (and everything works on buster and bullseye on rpi4).

Finally, I am having a problem using the xset where, when playing videos (full screen or windowed) the monitor will go to sleep and when it wakes back up there is no audio (reboot to get it back); however, this is probably not on topic and I would rather spend time fixing the future (wayland).
