once into the cli and yes this boots straight into the cli and you have no os bro, its dos like operating system back from 1980, and then you do sudo apt update -y && sudo apt upgrade -y, delete the -y if needed its a flag to make it automagically say yes
sudo apt-get gnome gdm3 gnome-tweaks gnome-shell-extensions alacarte and when you get into the os
if you want chrome to behave like normal go to settings and search for reset settings and click the only result sir, bam debian can suck it
ask chat gpt how to set up retropie
reboot after all that and to get the boot screen to listen you need the package
sudo apt -y install rpd-plym-splash
you can set the theme after that with plymouth
i prefer emerald
sudo plymouth-set-default-theme emerald
it should trigger a rebuild of ramfs automagically
then reboot and enjoy a pretty green boot scene
to see whats availiable for splash screens use
sudo plymouth-set-default-theme --list
added boner: ask chat gpt 4.0 to make you a custom splash screen and ask him where to put it etc,,,,,,,,,,, its how i built this beauty
buy the asus 22" touchscreen on amazon for 200 and throw away your mouse but get the red dragon rgb keyboard for 48 or the mx keys mini mechanical, both are tenkeyless which allows you to have a human sized keyboard that isnt made for accountant slaves
this monitor requires a hdmi extractor to put audio out and do not use bt on pi for audio linux sucks ass at audio on bt
i got one on amazon for 10 usd and done and dusted perfect latency free audio
its capable on retropie all the way to ps2 easily
as an os if you listened its as fast as any modern os but depends on storage media for boot drive like any pc, you a cheap mofo? be prepared to wait
