Thanks. I should have said I am using the Real VNC viewer which is fine in the default Bookworm. Still working on getting the takbar/launcher/menu icons:
UPDATE: So it appears the icons are searched for, at least the GIMP one, first in the /.local/share/icons/..../apps/*.* so by placing a highlighted GIMP 32x32 in the mentioned folder, I have that sorted but this isn't working for the VNC viewer . . .
