Bookworm by default uses wayland and to start the gui from cli you use wayfire-pi

startx is for X11 mode

Thank you for the quick reply, I tried the command:

wayfire

but when I hit enter it showed me a gray screen I pressed Ctrl + Alt + enter (Windows 11 layout), and it opened terminal as expected, im not sure what to do now, but you got me one step closer.
