More clever is having uSD in first place! In case you screw up your NVMe you're still able to boot from uSD.

Would a small nvme plus the connected usb3 harddisk (for media) cause power issues?
Is there a way or rule of thumb before pulling the trigger and purchasing an nvme and expansion board https://thepihut.com/products/argon-neo ... d_source=1?

I'm using a Pi5 with the official 27W adapter, sdcard, and an old western digital mypassport usb3 4TB HDD for media.
