I ran into this exact problem in the last couple days while upgrading my RPi 5 to a Geekworm X1001 PCIe to M.2 Key-M NVMe SSD HAT board and SSD. The SSD install was simple and quick and works great, but I can no longer mount a NTFS USB drive. The Mounting File System job spins until a reboot, which hangs because of the mount attempt. It took a while to find this item, but I did believe it resulted from the updates I ran as part of the install process.
Since a USB drive--any USB device--normally mounts in R/W mode without any additional effort, and because of time constraints and inexperience on my part, I would not like to go through any of the gyrations listed in this thread to make it work. Plus, I don't yet need to use the USB drive. So I would like to leave it alone, with the understanding that it will be fixed sometime in the near future.
So, I have two questions: 1) Will this likely be fixed with an update in the (hopefully) near future? 2) Someone mentioned that the problem should be reported and to wait until it is fixed. Just how do I report an OS update problem?
