Think I know now why the directory as described above was read only.
I used the inbuilt Raspberry SD Card Copier instead of Raspberry Pi Imager when transferring the Raspberry Pi OS from the MSD to the NVME SSD. Wanted all settings to be copied over avoiding having to do it all again as it is from a fresh start. But as you know now I had a different issue that took longer to solve. Good thing is I learned a lot from it.![:)]( "Smile")
