Raspberry Pi OS • Re: Boot problem

Please help! My pi5 8gb won’t get past the welcome screen! I have a pi power source, using the correct hdmi 0 and used the imager to get the OS. I’m connecting to an LG newer 4K tv. This is the second one in a row that is stuck at the welcome screen, so it would seem it’s on my end. I’ve tried multiple sd cards. I’m at a loss. Can anyone help?

Thank you
1) Have you checked if powering up and booting without a uSD card (or other bootable device) present leads to a bootloader diagnostic display on your LG TV? (If you don't try other uHDMI to HDMI cables and without any adapters if possible)
2) What size of uSD card? Larger (>32GB) will be uSDXC and any image writing will require a known uSDXC compatible (USB?) card reader/writer. Card slots on a laptop etc. may not be unless explicitly marked or stated so elsewhere. Also first boot on larger cards can take quite some time to complete, maybe 10 - 20 mins depending upon the cards actual performance (rather than that "advertised"). A clue to "how long" maybe Imager's write and verify times. The largest size I've used to date is 128GB - FWIW some notes/screenshots are here: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_p ... _or_larger
but they're due for an update! - ie. the external "web-site" hasn't (yet) been updated from the "local" one as there is "work-in-progress" ;) .
