Based on other posts on this forum it is my understanding that the RPi 3B+ has no NVRAM or associated EEPROM. So when I noticed a recent update for the rpi-eeprom package on my 3B+ running bullseye 64-bit I naturally figured I didn’t need it. So I did a sudo apt purge of the rpi-eeprom or rpi-eeprom-update (cannot recall which) and now my RPi won’t boot properly.
A few questions:
1. If the 3B+ has no EEPROM, then why do the rpi-eeprom and rpi-eeprom-update packages even exist on OS developed specifically for this device?
2. Why does my 3B+ break when I remove these packages?
3. Where can I find the source code for rpi-eeprom?
Thanks in advance for the help!
