Whoa, hold up, cool your jets — if this is about your GoPiGo3 robot, you absolutely do not need to port or package a whole OS. Calm down. This is doable.Creating/porting ANY Linux distribution is a Herculean task, and just thinking about the zillions and zillions of packages in the repo's just boggles my mind.
Start with a limited goal, say ”I want to release something that allows GoPiGo3 to work with Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm 32-bit running on a Raspberry Pi 3B“
Start with a standard OS distribution. Then give instructions on how to add the software you need. That's how you distribute a custom OS for hardware. Having image downloads is fine is you're a commercial vendor of a product. Which I don't think you are.
