Well rather than quit the forum I persevered and continued to watch what my Pi was doing when I was doing certain tasks.
Today I have eliminated overheating as my issue cause and have settled on the Pi does not seem to like downloading large python scripts for a web page.,
Twice this morning on a very cool day I tried to download a python script of about 18,000 characters and as I watched the green Led dim I noticed that the screen had started to freeze as well as noting that the green LED on the Ethernet port slowly stopped flashing and stayed
permanently on.
Next Firefox reported that the tab I was using had crashed and the green LED near the back of the board started flashing again
When I recovered the tab in Firefox all was well my script had downloaded and everything went back to normal.
As this has happened 3 times in a row now I am fairly certain that this issue is caused by Pi not being able to handle excessively large downloads.
Not sure how much RAM it has but I may be just overloading it.
Work around is start download, wait for the freeze, then the tab crash, then recover tab and move on.
This should end the discussion unless somebody wishes to make a comment and enlighten me on where I am going wrong with my conclusions.
Open to criticism or guidance.
