Raspberry Pi OS • Zephyr Project and 'lsusb'

Name: Zephyr Project

USB ID database incorrectly assigns VID 2fe3 to NordicSemiconductor. Note that Nordic Semiconductor ASA VID is 1915. The 2fe3 is assigned to Zephyr Project. The VID assignment can be checked on USB website - https://www.usb.org/developers - the Valid USB Vendor IDs (VIDs) contains all valid values in decimal. The decimal for 0x2fe3 is 12259 and in the USB VID list it is assigned to "Zephyr Project". The VID is used for Zephyr samples, the list of currently assigned PIDs is available at https://docs.zephyrproject.org/latest/s ... dentifiers

And that's how it is with Zephyr projects on Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm today -

Code:

pi@Pi4B:~ $ lsusbBus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hubBus 001 Device 058: ID 2fe3:0001 NordicSemiconductor Micropython on Zephyr RTOS <---Bus 001 Device 002: ID 2109:3431 VIA Labs, Inc. HubBus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
From the description I presume this is an up-stream issue.

Now we have growing support for Zephyr on the Pi and Pico-range, perhaps someone from Raspberry Pi could give up-stream a kick to get this corrected as I guess they did with the Raspberry Pi 2E8A VID which wasn't showing any text at all when 'lsusb' was used.
