Hello,[Update] GNOME 44 → 48 on Raspberry Pi OS Lite Ubuntu-like
I rebuilt my setup and upgraded from GNOME 44 to GNOME 48 on Raspberry Pi OS Lite (Debian 13). This new iteration looks closer to Ubuntu and automates a lot of small details...
Thank you for this post, which I find very interesting, especially the breakdown of all the commands used in Section 4.
I tested installing Ubuntu directly on an RPi 5, but it wasn't smooth enough for my liking. If I understand correctly, it seems that your setup allows you to use the native RPi OS with a graphical environment (Gnome) very similar to Ubuntu, which I like.
However, I have two questions:
- when you updated the setup on October 11, 2025, did you also update the explanations in Section 4?
- how can we monitor the GPU in this configuration? Is there an equivalent to the GPU plugin in RPi OS/Pixel?
