Raspberry Pi OS • How to configure WiFi on first boot without using Raspberry Pi Imager for Trixie?

To configure wireless network access at first boot for a headless Raspberry Pi, enter the network information in the Customisation > Wi-Fi tab in Raspberry Pi Imager.

Putting under /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/ a .nmconnection file, before flashing the image, seems insufficient, as rfkill keeps the network disabled.

* How can I configure wireless network access on first boot, when I do not use the Raspberry Pi Imager?

My question is for the latest RPI OS - 2025-12-04-raspios-trixie-armhf-lite.img . Ideally this should be described at https://www.raspberrypi.com/documentati ... -network-2
